- Action ladder
- The graduated steps moderation can take: warn, hide content, end the call, cooldown, temporary suspension, ban. Each step has a written trigger, a reason and an appeal link. See also: Policy engine, Statement of reasons.
- Agent fleet
- Several AI coding agents working in parallel. They write and test the code; the founder writes specs, reviews and decides. See also: Three-point estimate.
- AI planner
- The AI that turns a request like "something low-key Thursday" into a draft plan with public places and times. The member edits and hosts it. See also: Plan, Open seat.
- Break-even
- The number of monthly active members at which net revenue covers operating costs, before founder pay. See also: Paying share, Monthly active member.
- Cold start
- The early period when a city has too few members for plans and seats to fill on their own. See also: Hub, Voice speed-meet.
- Consent ledger
- An append-only record of every face reveal, album opening and video grant, and every revocation. Members can read their own. AI records consent; it never grants it. See also: Verification results store.
- Crew
- A small group of members who met and all said they would meet again. See also: Pulse, Meet-again.
- CSAM
- Child sexual abuse material. Uploads are hash-checked against known material; a human views any match before it is reported to the authorities. See also: Hash matching.
- Durable Objects
- A Cloudflare product that keeps small pieces of live state at the edge. Peoplarium uses it for chats, rooms and the speed-meet queue.
- Gate
- A checkpoint between phases with measurable criteria, such as the share of members who meet again. The next phase starts only when a gate is passed.
- Hash matching
- Comparing a fingerprint of an image with fingerprints of known abusive images, without anyone viewing the original. See also: CSAM.
- Hub
- An interest community inside Peoplarium, with threads, roles and structured personal posts. See also: Structured personal.
- Hyperdrive
- A Cloudflare product that connects Workers to a regular Postgres database quickly.
- Meet-again
- The private question after a meetup: would you meet this person again? Only a mutual yes counts. It is the main signal Peoplarium learns from. See also: Pulse, Crew.
- Mirror
- A screen that shows members what the system believes about them, line by line, to confirm, correct or delete. See also: Quick card.
- Monthly active member
- A verified member who used Peoplarium in the month. The business model is built on this count. See also: Break-even.
- Open seat
- One to three places a member offers on a plan they already made, for verified strangers who fit. The host approves who joins. See also: Plan.
- Operating law
- Members decide and organize; AI suggests and moderates; the platform provides tools and never takes part offline. Every feature is tested against it.
- The percentage of monthly active members who pay for Plus. The model assumes 3–5%. See also: Plus, Break-even.
- Plan
- A meetup a member creates and hosts: time, public place, size and who can join. See also: Open seat, AI planner.
- Plus
- Peoplarium's paid tier from Phase 2, at CAD 19.99 a month or CAD 191.90 a year. It sells time and depth, never safety or visibility. See also: Paying share.
- Policy engine
- The part of moderation that applies Peoplarium's written rules to what the classifiers find and picks a step on the action ladder. See also: Action ladder, Shadow mode.
- Pulse
- The short check after a meetup: did it happen, and would you meet again. See also: Meet-again.
- Quick card
- The first onboarding step, about three minutes, enough for a first suggestion. Understanding then grows by one question a day. See also: Mirror.
- Shadow mode
- Running a moderation classifier silently on real traffic for two to four weeks to measure false positives before it is allowed to act. See also: Policy engine.
- A safety tool that sends a plan to the member's own trusted contacts. It needs the other person's consent. See also: Trusted contact.
- Statement of reasons
- The message a member receives explaining a moderation action and how to appeal it. See also: Action ladder.
- Structured personal
- A text post that states an intent and an interest, such as "climbing partner, Sundays, Kitsilano", instead of a photo grid. See also: Hub.
- Three-point estimate
- Expected hours = (low + 4 × likely + high) ÷ 6. It weights the likely case and still counts the tails. See also: Agent fleet.
- Trusted contact
- A person the member chooses to receive their shared plans and safety messages. Check-ins go to them, never to the platform. See also: Share Plan.
- Verification results store
- A separate store holding verification results (pass or fail, age band, badge state), never ID documents. See also: Verified Real badge.
- Verified Real badge
- The badge a member gets after a liveness and ID check. Its wording is exactly "Verified Real · ID checked". The face stays optional. See also: Verification results store.
- Voice speed-meet
- Short voice rounds between verified members grouped by interest, moderated live. Only a mutual yes is shared. See also: Meet-again.
