Questions to ask any dev shop, us included
Ten questions that separate a team from a sales deck. Send them before the first call. A good shop answers in writing; a great one already has the answers on its website.
- Who exactly writes the code, and can I meet them before signing?
- What level is each person, and is it on the invoice?
- Whose repository holds the code from the first commit?
- What happens if a person is not a fit?
- How do you use AI agents, and who reviews what they write?
- What does the fixed price include, and how are changes priced?
- Can I see the written acceptance list before the build starts?
- Which vendors will see our data, and on what terms?
- What is the rollback plan for launch day?
- What does support look like after launch, and what does it cost?
