Systems Architect Position

Digi117 is looking for a Systems Architect to join an exciting position in Vancouver BC. We are looking for someone who has experience working with Passenger Information Display Systems. The ideal candidate will know how to work on both the Enterprise (IT systems) domain and the Operation (industrial control systems) domain with both hardware and software capabilities along with experience working as a systems architect of a complex system or subsystem.

Responsibilities:

Upgrade a significant system upgrade intended to provide modern digital displays with next train and customer service information.

Gather  information from various systems, including real-time train information, as well as manually entered content from users, performs calculations and data manipulation and then ultimately sends the final content to displays located on station platforms and at station entrances.

Work with existing legacy PID systems, some of which are at end of life and will be decommissioned after the new system is implemented and one system on the Millennium Line Evergreen Extension, consisting of 6 stations, which will need to coexist with the new system.

Requirements:

Experience working as a systems architect of a complex system or subsystem
Dates (commencement date and completion date)
Description of team member role(s) in the project
Any direct Transit Experience
Brief Summary of 3 relevant projects (completed and ongoing) during the past 15 years done by the proponent or team, including:
Project name
Experience working on both the Enterprise (IT systems) domain and the Operation (industrial control systems) domain with both hardware and software capabilities
